The amazingly Pederneira Mine is one of the premier Tourmaline localities in the world. This prolific locality has been producing some of the most iconic Tourmaline specimens ever found for decades. The mine is celebrated for the superior Tourmaline crystals (both in terms of size and quality) that are found in a rainbow of colors. This beautiful small cabinet sized piece is a classic gemmy Tourmaline from circa 2010 finds. The lustrous, striated, prismatic trigonal crystal is VERY GEMMY (and even WATER CLEAR in areas) and is complete all around. It's also UN-repaired, which is not terribly common for this material, as many crystals are broken when they are found and have to be glued back together. The piece is features a nearly colorless "Achroite" shade on the termination that transitions into an Indicolite blue hue on the upper portion, which grades into a green shade in the center, and ends with more of a yellow-green color at the base. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph correctly with the gemminess, luster and striations. Better in person! Specimen weight is 24.16 grams. A fine, classic gem Pederneira Tourmaline crystal.
