Item Description

China has been a collector's paradise from the standpoint of quantity, quality and the plethora of species that have come out of the ground over the last 15 or so. Despite the incredible amount of minerals coming out of China these days, Tourmalines are exceptionally uncommon. This specimen hails from the Gaoligong Shan area which is very close to the border with Burma. It hosts several wonderfully lustrous, sharp, gemmy, pink, yellow-green and black euhedral crystal of Tourmaline sitting on translucent Quartz matrix. The Tourmaline crystal measures 1.8 cm long with beautiful multicolor appearance. How often does one see a Tourmaline from China!? It certainly is a good quality specimen, and for Tourmaline collectors, this is a rare opportunity to obtain a good quality display specimen from this rather obscure locality. Enjoy.
