Item Description

Despite the incredible amount of minerals coming out of China these days, Tourmalines are exceptionally uncommon. This specimen hails from the Gaoligong Shan area which is very close to the border with Burma. It hosts several wonderfully lustrous, sharp, gemmy, pink and green euhedral crystal of Tourmaline sitting amongst Quartz and Feldspar matrix. The largest Tourmaline crystal measures 2.5 cm long, and shows a wonderful gemmy pink color. How often does one see a Tourmaline from China!? It certainly is a good quality specimen, and for Tourmaline collectors, this is a rare opportunity to obtain a good quality display specimen from this rather obscure locality. Enjoy.
