Item Description
A VERY RARE, classic, old-time thumbnail specimen of glassy and lustrous green tourmaline crystal sections in sparkly, sugary dolomite matrix from the alpine clefts of Campolungo, Tessin, Switzerland. There are about 13 crystals here, some with trigonal terminations and most with hexagonal form. The tourmaline crystals fluoresce yellow! This is a SIGNIFICANT OLD-TIMER. It is extremely rich and fine, according to the literature, and we have seen only one other in person. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10720. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
