Item Description

A beautiful thumbnail specimen featuring a VERY gemmy, multicolor Tourmaline crystal with beautiful pink and green coloring with slight yellowish hues here and there. This attractive piece hails from the famous Golconda Mine of Brazil and is a highly desirable old-timer from the 1970s. The piece is complete, and the fantastic color and incredible gemminess are both noteworthy for the material. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). This piece is mounted in a "perky" box with one of Wulff's typed labels glued to the base.
