Item Description
A beautiful gemmy "pencil" of the classic Tourmalines from the famous Pederneira Mine in Brazil. The color is a saturated green, with varying pastel blue and green hues here and there. The prism faces are sharp and lustrous, while the classic trigonal termination has a matte luster. Additionally, the termination is slightly contacted, but also has a bit of a skeletal opening, where it's actually hollow inside giving the piece nice character. The piece would make a would make a wonderful addition to any Tourmaline suite, a gem crystal collection, or a Brazilian collection. Specimen weight is 11.69 grams. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
