A classic and colorful bi-colored tourmaline from the famed Himalaya Mine. The history of tourmaline (and other gem crystal) mining goes back over a century, and pink tourmaline carvings and mineralia from San Diego county can be seen in many Chinese museums, a remnant of Empress Dowager Cixi's love of the pink crystals around the turn of the 1900s. This is a classic color combo! This example features a green lower half that transitions to the classic 'himalaya pink' color. Just the slightest hint of green reappears at the sharp termination, and there is a small accent of pale lavendar, pearlescent lepidolite on the top of the specimen. Specimen mass is 33g, with one clean repair just below the halfway point. A fine miniature! Valued $750
