Item Description

Despite the incredible amount of minerals coming out of China these days, Tourmalines are exceptionally uncommon. This specimen hails from the Gaoligong Shan area which is very close to the border with Burma. It hosts a pair of wonderfully lustrous, sharp, gemmy, pink euhedral crystals of Tourmaline coated by Cookeite(?) with minor Muscovite. The Tourmaline crystals have a slight blue hue near the termination but 90% of it is vibrant pink in color. How often does one see a Tourmaline specimen from China!? It certainly is a good quality specimen, and for Tourmaline collectors, this is a rare opportunity to obtain a good quality display specimen from this rather obscure locality.
