Item Description

This is an elegant, gracefully tapering crystal of 38 grams, that features superbly contrasted terminations on either end. It was traded to me in 2008 from the personal collection of Himalaya Mine-owner, Bill Larson. He self-collected the specimen in the early 1980s and valued this himself at $2500 low, $4200 high at the time (which was the sticker on it in our exchange...ouch! but the price is paid to get things from the personal collection of guys who mined the best). It is pristine, complete all around, and has excellent luster and translucency. The uniform color saturation without much gradient is unusual for this mine, where tourmalines tend to be multihued and show color gradations throughout. This is better than theaverage similar example out there - and better than the photos show. In person it has a bit more brightness and life to it. The flaring symmetry from bottom to top makes it stand out. A $145 custom lucite display base is included.
