Item Description

Glassy and gemmy, this classic San Diego tourmaline is also doubly terminated. Both terminations exhibit a rich pink-red coloration with the center having a light yellow green color. The color is very good for this style, from this mine. There is an ivory colored line near one termination where the crystal appears to have healed. Research indicates this may be the recently named tourmaline group mineral, foitite. The mass is 67 grams. from the collection of mine owner William Larson of Pala Intl, this was collected by him in the early 1980s. valued $3000 in an exchange to me
