Tourmaline (doubly-terminated crystal)

A fine quality and classic small cabinet sized specimen from this famous Tourmaline locality in San Diego County. Some of the most distinctive and beautiful Tourmaline crystals from any US locality have come from this mine. This piece is a fine, sharp, lustrous, doubly-terminated Tourmaline crystal featuring a pyramidal termination on one end, and a basal termination on the other end. There is a beautiful mixture of pink and green hues with the pink shades near the ends, and more of the green color towards the center. Excellent condition all around, VERY little damage. A lovely example of these famous old crystals from the 1970s. The specimen weight is 13.92 grams.
