From a discovery in 2020, this piece is from the Candy Cane Pocket at the Beni Bouzra locality in Morocco. This locality is certainly not what one has come to expect from Morocco in terms of minerals, as we often see secondary ore specimens, along with Fluorites, Calcites and Barytes, but when these Tourmalines hit the market, they surprised everyone. This piece is a fine quality, doubly-terminated "floater" crystal featuring a baby pink hue on the flat basal termination, which grades into a rarely seen burnt orange hue in the central portion of the crystal, ending with a rich pink ("Rubellite) color on the pyramidal termination. You need strong backlighting to best see the colors. The piece is complete all around, with no damage I can find with the naked eye. A very impressive specimen from this unlikely Moroccan locale, and if you collect gem crystals, Tourmalines or Moroccan minerals, don't miss out on this one. Valued $1,200.
