Cookeite is very uncommon from the renowned pegmatites of Minas Gerais and is RARE from the famous Santa Rosa Mine. A 2.0 cm indicolite tourmaline with a couple of quartz points are the focal point of this very sculptural and rare large combination piece from the Matioli Collection. Many more indicolites and indicolite sections are noted in the hidden cleft on the left side and on the back. Clusters of lustrous, straw-yellow cookeite crystals cascade down the knobby/blocky, pretty pastel-pink orthoclase crystals on the front. A striking, excellent and rare large combination from this locale.
