Item Description
A gorgeous and dramatic opposing pair of tourmalines from the famous Himalaya Mine. Both crystals are doubly terminated, with the lower terminations being broken and rehealed. The lower half of the large crystal is translucent olive-green with numerous layers of pink. The upper half and the entire sidecar crystal are beautifully gemmy, and glow with the classic and vibrant "Himalaya pink". Bladed cleavelandite and a bit of purple lepidolite are fine accents. The crystals have super-glassy luster and are well-striated. This stunning 360-degree specimen is nearly pristine, with only a chip out of the basal termination on the large crystal. Some of the cleavelandite blades on the back are broken but that is of no real effect to the display. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections. 146 grams. Fairly valued at $1800-2000
