Item Description
A beautiful and dramatic, bi-colored, tourmaline crystal cluster that is strikingly accented on one side by snow-white cleavelandite blades, from the classic Paprok locale. The gemmy lower sections are a very pleasing, bubblegum-pink. BUT, there is a thin rind of greentourmaline sheathing the pink (more visible in person or from underneath)! This gives a suble complexity to the color. The terminations at the base of the cluster reveal this. The vibrant, apple-green, gemmy zones are a super contrast to the pink. The multiple pyramidal terminations are all well formed: ALL of the many upper terminations are pristine. The basal terminations on the bottom are of two types: the subterminations on smaller crystals are very glassy, smooth, pinacoidal. The larger bottom termination was broken in the pocket, in situ, and then healed over by later growth in the pocket (so it is technically doubly-terminated, though at first glance may look fractured at the base). There are also small tourmalines embedded in the cleavelandite blades. This is a super-aesthetic, 360-degree specimen. Fairly valued at $3000-4000. From old dealer stock of Herb Obodda, who brought it out of Afghanistan
