Item Description
Here we have a beautiful crystal group of bi-icolor Tourmaline with lustrous, striated prism faces and good saturation for the size. The crystals show a nice balanced mix of pink and green hues, while the larger thicker crystal at the base has the color split horizontally, the thinner bisecting crystals actually shows a "Watermelon Tourmaline" appearance with a green outer "rind" and a pink "core". The fact that both crystals show the same colors in completely different manners is rare for Tourmaline. The piece is in fairly good shape, and the main crystal is complete all the way around, but the thinner crystal is contacted. The piece would still make a would make a nice addition to any Tourmaline suite, a gem crystal collection, or a Brazilian collection. The piece weighs 10.64 grams. Classic material and great quality from the standpiont of color. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
