Item Description
In terms of Tourmaline specimens, Pakistan is typically outshined by the specimens from nearby Afghanistan, but there are a few localities that produce very attractive specimens. This piece is from Chhappu, which is not typically known for its Tourmalines, and came from a small pocket a couple years ago. The piece hosts a few attractive green colored, gemmy, prismatic crystals of Tourmaline sitting on gemmy, colorless, hexagonal crystals of Quartz. The main Tourmaline group measures 1.7 cm, and the crystals are slightly "bent" which is not unheard of in Tourmalines, as the crystals can often bend depending upon geological conditions in the pocket, but it's certainly rare in the mineral world as most crystals do not feature this phenomenon. There are a few nicks to the Quartz crystals, but the Tourmalines appear to be in very good shape. Overall it's a showy and desirable specimen from a fairly hard to find locality in Pakistan.
