Tourmaline (beautiful cut)

Of all the colors of Tourmaline in the world green is one of the most popular amongst collectors and dealers. This is an attractive stone with a rich blue-green color and a standard "emerald" cut. The stone is virtually eye clean and the color does have some very nice bright green flash to it thanks to the unique cutting on the pavilion. There are thin grooves which are actually carved into the underside of the stone at an angle which reflects the light in a way that brightens up the stone. PLEASE NOTE:  The color of the stone looks notably different on either a black or white background.  We photographed the stone on both backgrounds, but the true color is much closer to the appearance on white.  The electric color seen on the black background is not accurate to the true color of the gem.  Tourmalines are not often found in eye clean gems, in fact, they are classified as a "Type 3" stone which means that the large majority of gems are included and these inclusions are accepted by collectors and dealers, so eye clean stones are not as common as they are in other gems. A beautiful stone from the storied Brazilian gem fields.
