Item Description
A cool old time classic gemmy green Tourmaline crystal measuring 4 mm is associated with sharp gemmy colorless Topaz measuring up to 3 mm on bladed Albite matrix from San Diego County, California. The specimen come from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with a typed label from Wulff that states the specimen was personally collected by the legendary field collector, Edwin Over, who was also one of the founding members of the CSMS with men like Wulff, Lazard Cahn and George White. A wonderfully historic piece from this well known material from around 70 years ago.
