Item Description
Mineral specimens of any variety are rare and are rarely available from Parelhas, which is NOT IN MINAS GERAIS but is rather in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. This is definitely a showy and excellent double your pleasure combination piece from this uncommon locale. A 7.0 cm, steeply terminated, lustrous tourmaline crystal is very aesthetically embedded in a sharp, glassy, transparent to translucent, stepped-growth face, smoky quartz crystal. Portions of the tourmaline are gemmy and have an unusual, deep wine-red to olive-green color. Some edgewear on the termination is noted, but has minimal impact on the overall quality of this fine rarity. The backlit photos give a hint of the gemminess and color variations. An excellent and rare combination specimen in fine quality from this very uncommon locale. from a trusted source, who went to this area on a bus buying minerals...
