Item Description
A very aesthetic and very fine combination thumbnail from the most famous tourmaline locality in Pakistan. The "frills" of lustrous, pearlescent, cleavelandite blades strikingly compliment a beautiful bi-colored tourmaline crystal. We have seen many tourmaline specimens from Stak Nala for many years and the one characteristic of that many of them lacked was decent color. This crystal features several colors ranging soft baby pink at the termination, to bright greenish-yellows to dark olive-green shades at the base of the crystal. The prism and termination is highly lustrous, which is NOT common for these crystals. The gemminess is outstanding and the sharp color zoning is distinctive. This is a great display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These pieces are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in todays market. This super thumb dates to the 1980s finds. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, who brought most of these to market in the 1980s.
