Item Description

Bill Larson assembled the Pala International Company tourmaline collection. He loved the historic old classics, and often went after pieces from such localities as this when trading with museums. This one came out of a trade with the American Museum of Natural History, and features interesting dark and lighter green bands of color with beautiful teal-blue. The two, parallel-growth crystals have interestingly etched terminations and have striking very gemmy to translucent sections. Complete all around. Tourmalines of this outstanding quality were recovered during the primary mining era of the 1930s to 1970s. SELDOM on the market in this multi-color quality. Ex Pala Intl. Company collection. 27 grams. Valued at $1500.
