A beautiful glowing pink gemmy prismatic Tourmaline crystal from the world famous Pala District in San Diego County, California. The given mine is the "Pala Mine", and this could refer to the Pala Chief, or Pala Mountain, or maybe just the district in general. It could be from several different localities, so it would be hard to figure it out visually. The piece is in very good condition all around with only tiny imperfections that can be seen here and there. The prism faces features attractive thin striations on all sides. The piece is technically doubly-terminated, as one end features a glassy basal termination on one end, and the other end is recrystallized ("re-healed"). Specimen weight is 8.9 grams.
