Tourmalines are beloved for their wide range of colors. You can find a Tourmaline in virtually any color of rainbow, including black and colorless. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found several years ago in Brazil. The stone shows a dark blue-green color throughout, showing a traditional "Emerald Bar" cut. This stone is virtually eye clean, which is a big deal as Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, because inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so when you find a stone like this, it's significant.
