Tourmaline (9.73 grams)

Item Description

A GEM quality, sharp, lustrous, striated, prismatic crystal of Tourmaline showing an olive-green hue at the base that transitions into a blue-green hue at the termination. It has a somewhat tapered / "tiered" effect as it narrows towards the pyramidal termination. The base of the crystal seems somewhat rehealed after it was removed from the pocket wall, but it's not a full termination. The interior of the piece is notably clean in areas and would actually yield a few gemstones. You can see a slight "cat's eye" effect on the tips of the "tiers" when the piece is backlit, which makes for a nice overall effect. The specimen weighs 9.73 grams. Classic material from Brazil!
