Item Description
An old time Tourmaline crystal from an undisclosed locality in Brazil featuring a well-formed trigonal termination and a nearly opaque green internal hue. If you put the crystal against a strong light, there is a slight amount of translucence. Two sides of the crystal show heavily striated "etched" cavernous growth, while it's a bit smoother and more complete on the other side. This one goes back many decades based upon the LOW catalogue number in the collection of Kay Robertson Collection (#98). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Specimen weigh is 62.56 grams.
