Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found a few years ago in Brazil The stone shows a rich bluish-green color and despite some visible inclusions, it has very good saturated color. Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, as inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so this stone is on par with many Tourmalines on the market. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days, and with so many gem Tourmalines coming out of Afghanistan and Africa lately, good Brazilian gems are not terribly common like they were 20 years ago. The stone has a "Round Cabochon" cut, and is valued at $25 per carat retail.
