Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. They're one of the few gems that occur in natural bicolor stones as well. The majority of bicolor Tourmalines on the market today are Afghani in origin, and remain as some of the most attractive in the gem world. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found a few years ago in Afghanistan. This "Round Brilliant" cut stone shows a distinct fiery purplish pink color. This stone is VVS in clarity, which is better than most for Tourmaline as the material is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, and inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days, as it appears that a lot of this material is making its way to China, and is not coming to the western market.
