Item Description

Tourmalines are beloved by dealers and collectors for their intense colors in various shades. Green Tourmaline is one of the most popular colors for the material in the world. Brazil for decades has produced some very fine quality Tourmaline specimens. This group features several sharp, lustrous, well-formed, prismatic crystals of Tourmaline that appear to be black, when they're strongly backlit, one can see a deep green hue at the base of the crystals, and an unusual but attractive "caramel" color near the terminations. To top it off, the piece has a light coating of Muscovite / Lepidolite on the back side of the crystals. Overall, the piece is in very good shape, and the Tourmalines are certainly great examples of their respective crystal habit. The piece comes from the collection of noted Colorado geologist Allen Heyl who purchased the piece from Denver dealer Dave Bunk, and although the piece looks as though it might be repaired, neither label mentions any kind of repair. Enjoy.
