Tourmaline (17.96 carats) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful polychrome Tourmaline from Virgem da Lapa featuring a very pale blue colored pyramidal termination that gives way to a rich olive green hue that transitions into a nearly opaque black at the base. A good quality single Tourmaline with sharp lustrous faces and no damage, save the base where it was detached from the pocket wall. Crystal weigh is 17.96 carats. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9159). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
