Tourmalines is one of the few minerals that is found in natural multicolored crystals. They have remained for decades some the most popular minerals in the world for dealers and collectors alike. This piece comes to us from the world famous Cruzeiro Mine. It is a fantastic large thumbnail / small toenail, showing a superb, gemmy, multi-color prism, with glowing pink, peach, orange and yellow tones. It's notably gemmy when backlit and I love the fact that the crystal is super lustrous on all sides, which is amplified by the gorgeous vertical striations. The piece is in very good shape on the display side, but it does have an unfortunate contact on the back, though it cannot be seen when the piece is displayed. It's a fantastic combination of quality, color and gemminess making for a desirable and unique Tourmaline crystal. Specimen weight is 13.88 grams. Valued at $500-$700 retail.
