Toumaline with Lepidolite

A killer gem, bi-colored red tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The glassy body is a gorgeous strawberry-red and the narrow termination zone is classic, Jonas Mine-like, cranberry-red. Appendage clusters of lepidolite crystals are very artfully attached to the sides, really adding striking character to this super thumbnail. This is rare and exceptional old-time material from the 1960s or 1970s. Definitely a competition-level thumbnail. It look sJonas Mine at first sight but the subtle difference of the lepidolite and a zoning at the termination is just off a little bit for the 1978 Jonas find. It looks Jonas at first glance, though!
