Item Description
Torbernite specimens are SUPER RARE from this historic Erzgebirge Type Locality! Patches of iridescent apple-green, tabular, cubic crystals are richly scattered on all sides of the blocky quartz-rich gossan matrix. The striking large cluster of plates is 1.8 cm across. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). The Brian Lloyd label dates to the 1970s. Value of such an extreme rarity from a famous old German locale?? A MUST for the species or locality collector.
