Item Description

A very hard to find piece of Torbernite on matrix from Bavaria. Small, sharp, beautiful green colored, tabular tetragonal crystals of Torbernite measuring up to 3 mm on granite matrix. The label states that this piece is from a locality called Winsiedel, Fichtelgebirge, Germany but I can't find a listing that matches this name, so I'm leaving it at Fichtelgebirge. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4066). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
