Torbernite on Microcline (rare) Trimingham Coll.

Item Description

One of the very few specimens of this hard to find material that I have handled. Bright neon-green, thin plates of torbernite are richly scattered on two sides of the large, blocky cream colored microcline matrix. Mostly a reference specimen, but certainly a rare specimen based upon the locality. An interesting torbernite specimen from this interesting granite pegmatite in North Carolina. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, purchased in Spruce Pine in 1977 and collected in 1971 or 72, according to Bob' label.
