Item Description
This historic Cornwall mine has produced some of the world's finest torbernite specimens and this is a showy and excellent old-timer from an East Coast collection. Scattered blades of iridescent, neon-green torbernite are dramatically and artistically scattered on the granular quartz matrix with a starkly contrasting iron oxide rind. The striking central blades look like a tree and are 1.8 cm across. This elongated bladed style of crystals is uncommon from this locale. Comes with a Hugh Ford label, a prominent English dealer who lived in New York City. The label dates from 1946-57.
