Topaz with Opal-AN (Hyalite Opal)

A wonderful matrix specimen of this now hard to find material. Klein Spitzkopje is well known for its Topaz specimens, and like most granitic pegmatite localities, they are often associated with Microcline and Quartz. This piece however is actually associated with white Opal-AN (Hyalite Opal), which fluoresces a brilliant green hue under UV light. The main feature of the piece is obviously the Topaz crystals, which have an interesting color, which I can best describe as a pastel greenish-blue hue. They are notably sharp, gemmy, lustrous and damage free, measuring up to 1.5 cm. A really cool display specimen of this hard to find material. Valued at $600.
