SUPERB, gem-clear, 1.4 cm Topaz crystal that sits aesthetically on the side of a vug in light-grey volcanic rhyolite. From the famous Topaz Mountain in Utah, the gorgeous sherry color and complex termination are both classic. The Topaz is completely gemmy, and the luster is superb. To add even more to the specimen, there is purple Fluorite laced in the outer edges of the vug. Great simply for the Topaz, it a terrific combination piece. Matrix specimens are rare because the Topaz easily cleaves off during extraction, so no damage to this fantastic Topaz is a huge bonus. An exquisite example, no question. And for the uninitiated, these beauties are light sensitive, so the lucky future owner of this fabulous small cabinet piece should take care on where it is displayed and otherwise keep in a box, and they survive for decades with no trouble.
