Item Description
Dassu is a famous Topaz-producing locality in the Shigar area of Pakistan, but typically the crystals are simple prisms with typically textbook form. THIS piece however is one of the most unusual examples we've seen from the locality as the habit/mophology is unlike anything I can remember seeing from the locale. The piece is nearly a "floater", as it's almost completely crystalized all around (small imperfections can be seen, so it's not 100% pristine), but it is doubly-terminated, as it's crystallized on the bottom and shows unusual broad pyramidal faces, with almost no prims faces to be seen. The crystals has a very pale sherry hue (nearly colorless), and it's notably gemmy inside creating a very pleasing "glass-like" effect. We've done our best to illustrate the unusual form and wonderful internal clarity in the video, but it simply looks better in person. If you collect gem crystals, Topaz, or you love specimens with unique/odd crystal habits, don't miss out on this beauty. Specimen weight is 62.08 grams.
