Item Description

Beautiful, totally gemmy 'silver' Topaz from the famous Namibian locality of Klein Spitzkopje. This is the material which Charlie Key exported to London in the early 1980s, which led to the development of the famous "London Blue" topaz treatment. Charlie kept some great examples aside for his collection. This 4 cm gem weighs in at an impressive 40 g, and has superb luster. It is completely gemmy, contacted on the bottom, of course, and has only two dings on it. It has the classic chisel-point termination that this locality is famous for. It is far better, even, in person, as crystals this clear can be tough to photograph. A superb miniature of this classic. THIS TOPAZ IS AMONG THE BRIGHTEST, MOST LUSTROUS AND GLASSY crystals of topaz we have seen from ANYwhere. valued $750-1000. it is THAT good in person
