Item Description

A showy and classic old Russian topaz, smoky quartz and feldspar specimen, undoubtably dating to the time of the Czars. A 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm, gem colorless topaz crystal with a complex pinacoidal termination is aesthetically nestled on a sharp feldspar crystal and in front of an imposing "mountain range" of smoky quartz crystals. One of the smokies has a bruised termination and periphery wear is noted, but in the overall context of this excellent combination piece, are certainly acceptable. This is a fine, very highly representative, old-time example of topaz and smoky quartz from this famous locale and displays well without aid. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection,.
