Topaz (rare locality)

Item Description

Topaz crystals from Nigeria are exceptionally hard to find on the market, especially compared to modern crystals from places like Brazil, Namibia or Pakistan. This piece is a very fine example with notably sharp and lustrous faces, along with excellent gem clarity. The piece is in excellent shape, though not 100% pristine, as I can see a few tiny blemishes. It's an old specimen for the simple fact that it is accompanied by a label from Ward's dating back many decades. If you collect gem crystals, Topaz, thumbnails or minerals from Nigeria, this is a very good piece to add to your collection. A lot of Topaz crystals I've seen from the Plateau Province tend to be a bit rounded (presumably from tumbling in a stream or river), but THIS piece is VERY sharp and well-formed.
