Item Description
Here we have a really interesting and rarely seen faceted "ball" of beautiful blue Topaz from Brazil. This is not your typical gemstone with a faceted crown / table and a pavillion underneath, but rather a complete spherical lapidary creating with dozens of facets on every side. There is no "top" to this gem, as it has facets on all side, and truly resmbles a disco ball, except for the fact that it's WATER CLEAR. We do not know if this blue color is natural or if this is a piece of treated Topaz, but treated blue Topaz has been around for approximately 40 years and made a huge splash when it first was introduced on the market. This material typically starts out as colorless Topaz and is treated to create the intense blue color. This method is well known in the gem trade and is not at all frowned upon, provided that people KNOW that they're buying a treated gem. Don't miss out on this beautiful and unique that weighs nearly 10 carats!
