A 2.7 cm, water-clear, light champagne topaz crystal prominently stands out from the matrix of glassy quartz crystals and euhedral to massive feldspar. There are three, smaller gem topaz crystals to 2.6 cm nearby. A striking and rare accent to this piece are the many microlite group microcrystals included in quartz with nifty, brown radiation halos. A highly unusual, showy, well-crystallized and rare combination from the Shigar Valley and the Bob Trimingham Collection. The former dealer had this rarity priced at $900, according to the label.
