Known for centuries, topaz specimens from this historic German locality are a much sought-after European classic. Sections of gem, banded light straw-yellow topaz crystals are nicely set amidst a dense cluster of quartz points on the banded gneiss matrix. The large topaz is large at 2 cm long, and gemmy though slightly contacted on the top end (where it grew against something). Showy old-time combination material from the Buschendorf Collection.
