Topaz, Quartz and Schorl

Sharp, complete and GEMMY 2 cm Topaz crystal resting on a gemmy, terminated 5 cm Quartz crystal. The Topaz has excellent form, very good luster, and is gemmy throughout. It also has an attractive, slightly yellowish-orange tint, but it is hard to tell if it is surficial or part of the crystal. Either way, the tint creates an nice contrast with the colorless Quartz. Both the Topaz and Quartz are included by slender Schorl needles, which add visual and mineralogical interest. The piece has excellent balance, as the Topaz sits up beautifully out of the Quartz. A very good combination piece from a well-known Topaz locality.
