Item Description
A RARE, impressive and sculptural small cabinet combination from this much less well-known pegmatite locale in the famous Shigar Valley. Highlights of this very artistic piece are: the pristine gem, complexly terminated, light champagne, 2.7 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm topaz crystal on the upper left; centrally placed cluster of gem, sharply terminated, stepped-growth quartz crystals, to 3.5 cm; and the two striking very robust pearlescent golden-brown muscovite books, to 4.5 cm across, at the base. All of these are artistically situated in the mounded matrix of cleavelandite and quartz, with pencil schorls, to 2.5 cm, embedded on the back. VERY RARE and choice Mungo combination material from the collection of well-known California pegmatite collector, Chris Korpi. Much better in person. The gemminess and glassiness of the topaz and quartz made photography difficult. Valued at $1000-1250.
