Item Description
A VERY RARE and outstanding combination from this historic old mining deposit. The blue topaz is indicative, and together this is unique to the old Russian localities in any old colletion (where this came out of, it had no label but was with many things from the 1800s era). Well-crystallized Topaz and Smoky Quartz are both EXTREMELY RARE from here but here we have a 360-degree intergrown pair of gemmy and sharply terminated smokies with the topaz. One side hosts TWO varieties of topaz. The well-placed 2.3 x 1.5 cm gem terminated crystal has pretty light sky blue color and next to it is a 3.0 cm, on the diagonal, section of a seafoam-green topaz crystal. From an East Coast classics collection. Value?? A MUST for the species or locality collector! This old mine produced a classic rare topaz of blue to colorless (this has a faint blue to it, which could perhaps be enhanced by setting in sunlight or xrays).
