Item Description

Here we have a classic light sherry colored Topaz on Quartz from Pakistan. This area has long produced some of the finest Topaz specimens in recent memory from the standpoint of color, size, and gemminess. This crystal measures 3.4 cm, and is very sharp and glassy with a light sherry color, but the fact that it is nearly 100% GEM quality makes it so much more desirable. It displays well from a few angles, and it's not terribly common to find these crystals on good crystallized Quartz matrix. You don't see nearly as many of these pieces from Pakistan on the market as compared to a few years ago. A worthwhile gem crystal specimen for any collector. The piece is in excellent condition, though it is contacted on the back, so it's not completely damage free. Please note that these crystals can fade to colorless when exposed to sunlight, or possibly any light, so it should be kept out of the light if possible to help retain its color. The piece comes with a label from recently deceased legendary New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin, who had it valued at $1500 for what it's worth.
