Topaz on Microcline (ex Ed Over & George Fisher)

A very rare and outstanding Colorado specimen from the Pikes Peak area, from TWO great Colorado collections. A 1.4 cm cluster of sharp, brown topaz crystals is attached on the side of a very sharp, textbook, flesh-colored, microcline crystal. This unique and pristine combination specimen is from both the Ed Over and George Fisher Collections. Ed was a premier US field collector, who died in 1963. He probably collected this piece. George was the greatest builder of a Colorado collection til the end of the 1900s and both are well known names, to have owned so apparently humble a specimen - which tells you what they thought of it's unusual qualities
